We started as a market stall working out of the founder's home kitchen, which is a typical start to most small businesses. The difference is that our founder is a Pastry Chef with over 30 years of experience and has crafted exceptional products. Her depth of knowledge and experience enabled Origin to produce high quality products which stand superior to those found in many local GF bakeries today. Once we have received all the info we require and you are properly disclosed as required by law, you could become a Franchisee within 4 to 6 weeks. As a franchisee our team will work with you on site selection, and the other steps go get your business open. This typically takes six to twelve months.

You do not need any formal baking experience to operate the franchise. Our training programs provide you with the knowledge needed to run the operations yourself. The role is operating a business, not being a baker.

Throughout the program, our training consultants will teach you everything you need to know about managing your Origin Bakery franchise. This includes how to monitor and manage operations and finance, the full baking process, production planning, stock control, marketing, managing staff and wages, performance and recruitment management, occupational health and safety, and more.

The Origin Bakery training program runs for 2 weeks in a corporate store and then 2 weeks in your new store, but can vary depending on how much time you need to be comfortable and confident in your baking, sales, and business management skills.

You’ll be most active in your first year, and spend more working hours on site. Once your bakery is at a point where it’s being managed effectively, we’ll guide you as you scale back your hours and find your ideal work/life balance.
