Drunken Cake
Delivery Available: No, Pick Up Only
Detail
These are our famous fruitcakes aged with regular bathings of brandy and Krupnik liquor.
We've teamed up with Wayward Distillation House in Courtenay to use their Krupnik liqueur - a spiced honey spirit that would be a great replacement for spiced rum or cinnamon whiskey, sipped by the fire. In this case, we use it to soak all of the dried fruit and citrus that goes into our fruitcakes!
Ingredients
cake: butter, free-range eggs, organic cane sugar, spiced honey spirits*, organic raisins, organic dried apricots, organic dried cranberries, organic dried figs, candied citrus, garfava flour, potato starch, ground almonds, sorghum flour, arrowroot starch, sea salt, organic spices, baking powder, guar gum, xanthan gum, vanilla bean, orange zest
garnish: apricot glaze, marzipan
Allergens
Does not contain: gluten, oats or soy
Care
Seal well with plastic wrap, bag or container in the fridge and it will last for many months.
If you try aging your fruitcake with alcohol, it can last for years! See this article to find out how to do this.
Servings
12 -14 slices
